Drilling for oil has always been backbreaking labor. Drillers, floormen, mechanics, helpers and others toll for weeks and months to bring in a single well which may produce a little or a lot, or in some cases nothing at all. Once drilling is complete then a whole myriad of tasks must be completed. The production phase includes everything from cementing, fractation, casing, logging, pumping and collection to the periodic workover. People working in the production phase operate in some of the most dangerous operations in the Oil and Gas Industry. They have to contend with blowouts, poison gas and fires which can and do cost them their lives. The art of producing a well to its full potential is a tribute to the men and women of the Oil and Gas Industry. It is to this group of people that we dedicate the second of a five part series entitled "Tribute to the Oil and Gas Industry".
